Ooo! Thank you for bring a generous tree-docent! I loved the tour and look forward to "meeting" more of the trees! I esp love the bark on the Tulip poplars, the pattern looks like feathers! Buckeyes are a fav, too! (I sometimes go on Zillow to look at the Buckeye tree from my childhood home:)!

So, if I have a young tree with branches right at the bottom, I don’t need to cut those branches off? Am I reading that right Lynn?

Great question and the answer is, it depends. If it's in your yard there's a chance it's a grafted tree which means the branches coming from the rootstock are a different species and should probably be cut.
