I try my best to not give advice ... but maybe just keep an eye on that honeysuckle. Here in the midwest I've seen a LOT of it expanding in wooded areas and edges in the past decade or so. It's been one of those "gradually, then suddenly" plant populations for us.
I really appreciate your efforts not to give advice, but in this case I also totally appreciate the advice given! In my area the honeysuckle has been here for many decades and it would be hard for it to get any worse. It covers nearly every place that isn't mowed or has trees tall enough to escape it. I maintain fences by weed whacking them and regularly free young trees from its clutches. Beyond that there's not much that can be done, but for anyone living where it has yet to fully take over, you've given some very good advice.
I enjoyed reading this. It's very informative and I sent a link to some of my rural family members. I hope they sign up. The other day I met a couple who wanted to check out my site and they tried while I was with them and I saw all the crazy steps it takes for a person who's not already on substack to visit my site. You know: would you like to subscribe to these other blogs? yes no maybe? which plan do you prefer? monthly yearly founding? and a couple more screens of blah blah blah and I believe they ask for a cc number even just to have a quick look. Am I wrong? (I can't reproduce what they showed me here because I'm already on substack.) I'm starting to understand why it's so hard to engage people who aren't internet-centric blog/social readers and those are the people I am very interested in reaching. Sorry for this off-topic rant but I'm wondering if I'm missing something...
Thanks for sharing the link, Ruben. Happy new year! As for the difficulties accessing substack, I didn't realize it was so hard. I think substackers have some control of what first timers encounter when the they go to a site, but I've never really looked into it. Maybe someone more tech savvy will chime in here....

I had the same thought, for here in MO. But for Lynn's area, it might be less of a problem.
Nice way to end the year.
Thank you for sharing your work. Many blessings sent your way as you continue in the New Year. ❤️
May your new year be blessed as well.
